We currently live in a normal world, in fact too normal that it is a disease. My purpose here is to show you how to be obsessed again and hopefully unleash the tremendous potential that is locked inside you. Life was meant to be lived in abundance, but it is only possible by seeing the big picture and allowing yourself to go beyond your limits. But first, let me share some of my insights and ideas before I show you how.
A Disease? I Don’t Get It
When I first heard about this thing, I also thought that this was a fluke. After all, it feels right to live a normal life, one that is safe and comfortable. We go to school, earn our diploma, work in an enjoyable job, build a family and repeat the cycle again. Everyday, we live our normal lives and thrive in our community.
However, I see this kind of life to be dull, boring and in fact too normal to live in. For years, I’ve been always wondering how people can get used to such a mentality. They’re willing to live like clockwork everyday for the rest of their lives. That’s their definition of normal which has been ingrained for centuries.
On the other end of the spectrum, there exists a small select group of people having extraordinary talents and intellect. I know you’ve heard stories of these from some sources. These people are so outstanding in what they do that we often wondered whether they’re human or not. We tend to label them the following:
- Even Mentally Retarded!
What you’ll notice with people who have these labels is their ability to think freely. They don’t impose limits on themselves and simply obsess over their thoughts. They don’t care if they might do something bad and are indeed unpredictable. As a result, this childlike attitude often gets them in a mess.
These people simply find it hard to live with the well-established culture that we’ve accustomed to. Because they won’t conform, we normally see them as threats to the society. But to further understand the situation, let’s look at it from another perspective. Take a look at your kids.
Kids are Naturally Obsessed People
Every child is a natural genius. They follow their curiosity and set no limitations on themselves. They can’t distinguish between good or bad and so their thoughts are just flowing freely. They will observe everything in the environment and put all their focus on random things like piano, basketball, books or flowers. This constant exposure serves as the breeding ground of their obsessions.
However, not everyone will be able to hold on to their obsessions because as they grow old, they will be conditioned by external factors such as society, media, government and most importantly, the school. But in a smaller scale, it can also happen through family upbringing, neighborhood, physical disabilities as well as poverty. Whatever the children hear and see will definitely have an effect on their behavior.
Kids are full of energy. It’s only until they are disciplined that they behave. I’m not saying that discipline is bad (I value discipline). But sometimes, it can go too far that the noisy spirit from within is being concealed. In other words, society is robbing us of our true power. These helpless children have no choice but to tone down and suppress the genius within.
The funny thing is when they hit big, all of a sudden we label them as geniuses who have extraordinary talent. We think that they were born gifted and somehow acquired a lucky gene. Our perception of them suddenly changed and we now treat them like they’re invincible or powerful. But the truth is, they are more down to earth than you’d actually expect.
- Steve Jobs had product failures such as Lisa and Apple I which got him kicked out of his own company. Eventually, he returned and made a huge comeback with his iPod, iPad, iPhone and Mac which completely transformed the world.
- Elon Musk failed three times in his rocket launch and his company SpaceX almost went bankrupt, but decided to continue on with his final launch which turned out to be a huge success.
- Albert Einstein quit school because he couldn’t freely express himself. But because of his obsession over math and physics, he became one of the greatest geniuses in history and is well known for his Theory of Relativity.
- Thomas Edison conducted thousands of experiments before he realized his greatest invention, the light bulb. Imagine if he had given up in just a hundred tries, we would still be facing the dark.
- Walt Disney was laughed at because of his Mickey Mouse idea. The movie executive told Disney all the reasons why it wouldn’t work. And yet you will save money just to buy a ticket to Disneyland.
- Colonel Sanders’ famous chicken recipe was rejected 1,009 times before succeeding. At the age of 65 (supposed to be retirement age), he created a huge empire which we now know as KFC.
There is a common pattern within these people and to other success stories out there. You will notice that these people faced some kind of a struggle before they eventually succeeded. But also notice that their struggles has somehow turned into a huge success that we are actually benefitting right now.
But hey, don’t feel down on yourself now. If you’ve been an average Joe during your entire life and you want to reach new heights and follow the footsteps of the highly successful, then I’ll show it to you in the next section.
Awakening the Beast
The truth is, we all have the beast inside us. Through this article, I hope to show you what it will take to level up your life and finally release the power that’s been dormant in you for years. That’s why given below are powerful tips and strategies that you can take right now.
- Study the Greatest People in your Industry
With the rise of the Internet, it’s possible to get into the mind of every world renowned person. Tony Robbins, Tai Lopez, heck even Bill Gates, the richest man in the world, has an online presence as well through his blog. All you have to do is to open Google and start to dig down on these big players. Find out what their habits are, listen to what they have to say and read their quotes.
- There is a Well-Known “Secret” to attaining Success
That my friend is the Law of Attraction. The world leaders of today habitually use this law in order to get what they want in life. Strangely though, only a small percent of the world population understand this law (including me). I use it in order to correct my mindset every time I veer off in the wrong direction or when I feel down in my life.
- Give Yourself Permission to do Crazy Stuff
It’s time to release your inner beast by unlocking the cage and letting it conquer the Universe. Creativity can’t thrive in an atmosphere of judgment and restraint. That’s why as much as possible, never ever criticize yourself while in the process of generating your ideas. If you have been analytic up until now, then save it for later when it’s the right time to do so.
- Persistence is Key
Surely, the road you will take is not easy. It requires that you mention things that may not be pleasant to other people’s ears. You might also be required to take risks and will have to put something at stake for the sake of a larger benefit. That’s why persistence is a very powerful trait of the successful and you must be willing to stick to the very end no matter how many times you fail.
- Have a Strong Enough Passion
Any expertise you have built on the foundation of passion is perhaps the most stable and the most promising of all. A passion is something that you love doing despite any adversities and obstacles that you face in life. It is one that can withstand the test of time and can soar high like a skyscraper. If you aren’t sure of it yet, I’ve created an article that might help you out.
- Focus on Improving Yourself Everyday
Learning is an integral part of life and is the reason why you survive on this planet. Invest in making yourself better and wiser every single day and do it consistently. Make a commitment to continuous learning by reading books & articles, watching videos and most importantly, applying it to real life situations. Start right now and eventually, the rewards will pay off in the future.
- Question the Rules
By knowing a lot of stuff on the subject or skill that you are taking, you develop a wonderful mental gift called intuition. You might notice that you start looking at things differently once you start getting into the intuitive level. There will be a tendency to question the rules that you once thought are fixed and given, which I think is totally fine.
- Be Unique and Different
One of the best advice I could give you is to just be yourself and act just the way you are. Just keep things natural as it is because that’s where the true power lies. Your unique set of experiences is what makes you one of a kind in this world. You might have faced some tough challenges in the past or made wonderful accomplishments. But please I beg you, use it to your full advantage.
- Get in the Right Environment
Find the right environment that can give you the maximum success possible. Remove everything that impedes your progress or that which restrains you from unleashing your full potential. Surround yourself with positive people, go to a much better place, or simply clean your work desk in order for you to accomplish your goals much better.
- Take Massive Amounts of Action
Perhaps the real difference maker here is the amount of action that you take. In order to win big you need to act big. I’ll give you a clue, massive action is the combination of big thinking and huge amounts of effort. This is what Grant Cardone stated in the book The 10X Rule, which I admit is very exhausting to do and certainly not the most comfortable advice you’ll learn. But you know, this is common to the greatest people on planet Earth.
You may be Starting Small, but Keep Thinking BIG
Most likely, I won’t be expecting that you’ll go full force upon reading my article, and that is perfectly fine. But I want you to remember one thing:
“You are more than what you think you are.”
Wake up! It’s time for you to go outside and show the world what you got. Stop limiting yourself and have big goals and dreams because right now, I give you the permission to do that. Take one advice from me and start applying it to your life until it sinks into your system. After which take another one and apply it as well. The key here is repetition and programming yourself to the habit.
Work on that next project, start a blog, practice on that selling pitch and remember to always keep your eyes on the prize at the end of the rainbow. Have intense focus sessions of whatever you’re doing and build upon that experience. Stop looking sideways and focus on building your skyscraper up and surely, you will achieve your much awaited success.
How big do you think right now? Was this article an eye opener to you? Come share your thoughts in the comments section and I’ll share mine as well. Good luck and I wish you all the best!
