This article is dedicated to all the people out there who are having a hard time with their lives in reaching their goals and dreams, those who are feeling stuck, and to those people that are doing something they didn’t want at all. As Apple founder Steve Jobs once said, “The only way to do great work is to love what you do”, my goal here is to hopefully guide you to start finding your passion. There are 7 reasons why I believe passion is important.
Everyone Should Live With Passion – 7 Reasons
I will do my best to convince you to go for what you truly love and never spend a single second living a miserable life anymore. Here’s why.
- No Passion means No Direction in Life
You were destined to control your life and not let life control you, and it all begins with your decisions. If you’ve been feeling stuck like I did at one point in your life, then you are not probably heading in the right direction. When you’re stuck in a job you don’t love and everyday you go to work just trying to get by, then there’s something wrong. Lacking the passion means you’re more prone to all the negative elements in your environment, which is obviously dangerous.
- You won’t get far enough without Passion
What I mean by getting far is by taking your job or hobby to the next level, to amounts that can be considered epic. In order to move forward, you need the passion to keep yourself intact and be able to persist whatever the situation may be. The problem with most people is that when times get rough, their rational thinking comes in and intervenes. People let their minds take control over the heart and their journey with passion ends.
- Only YOU can find your Passion
If you’ve been loose and lacking commitment with your passion, chances are that it’s not really yours to take. Why? Because only YOU can identify the things you really love. Society has somehow influenced us on the decisions we make, especially when defining our purpose in life. As much as we want to leave our jobs and go follow the things we love, we can’t because people around us said so. But in my case, I never let the outside control me and make sure that I am heading towards the direction of my passion.
- A Life of Passion is a Life Fulfilled
It doesn’t really matter in the beginning whether you’re good at something or not. You will attract all the resources and tools you need to grow. What’s important is that you keep yourself fine-tuned from within by following your bliss and going with your passion. Imagine you’re now lying in your death bed and start looking back in your past. What memories do you want to experience, those that are fulfilling or those that are regretful? The answer is totally up to you.
- Passion Can Be Developed
Maybe right now you haven’t found what you’ve set out to do yet. But once you discover it, understand that your passion can be developed on a daily basis. Whether you want to cook Italian food, play the guitar, train a dog, write articles, or start an online business, you can develop it by taking it one step at a time but with consistency. The important thing is that you do it EVERYDAY. Once you stick to the process, eventually you’ll rise to the top and will start to love your passion more.
- The Most Successful People Value Passion
The people you’ve come to know and love: Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Michael Jordan, Oprah, Albert Einstein, or anyone who has amassed so much success understand the importance of passion. They have achieved so much in their respective areas in life that even at this moment they continue to do what they’re doing. Why? Because they are extremely passionate people with full commitment to their duties. They can go to places where no one could and they simply respond to their purpose.
- You’ll leave a Legacy through your Passion
Imagine becoming a very successful businessman or becoming a master in playing the piano. You will grow your wealth in whatever industry you’re in. People will commend you based on what you’ve contributed to the world. Imagine becoming the next great scientist and discovering a treatment for an incurable disease. 50 to 100 years from now, you will still be talked about long after you’re gone. Once you commit to a passion and start developing it with all your heart, such legacy will happen.
Unleash the Passion from Within
I believe these seven lessons will definitely help you a lot in understanding the value of passion. Don’t feel sorry for yourself if you got lost in tracks because of the bad experiences that came into your life. No matter what you’ve gone through in the past doesn’t matter anymore because the future is promising and is something that you can look forward to. Once you find your passion and start developing it, there’s no stopping you anymore.
So how do you find your passion anyway? Well first thing, don’t force yourself if you can’t figure it out at the moment. I believe it will come as a result of you opening your mind to all the possibilities out there. If you want to start now, I actually made a guide on how to find your passion, so please take time to read it.
