What is Younique About?
Younique is a direct sales company that specializes on beauty products.
It works on a multi-level marketing model (or MLM), which opens opportunities for ordinary people (particularly women) to earn a supplemental income.
And if you’re good enough, you might even establish multiple sources of income that have the potential to replace your 9 to 5 job!
Younique can be compared to the likes of Mary Kay and Avon, since they’re also MLM companies that provide cosmetics to women.
The difference? Younique only began in 2012!
Even so, this youthfulness serves as a competitive edge because the company is able to leverage technology to its advantage, introducing concepts such as ‘Virtual Parties’ and the ‘Try-On Room’.
Younique was established by two siblings, Derek Maxfield and Melanie Huscroft (see picture on the right).
They’re also accompanied by four more brilliant people, namely: Joey Toscano, Joao Rodrigues, Tori Poulter, and Shelaine Maxfield.
Younique also gives back to the world via the Younique Foundation and Defend Innocence.
What Types of Products Does Younique Sell?
Younique is pretty diverse in its catalog of beauty products.
It sells makeups for the the eyes, lips, and face. Then it also has products for the skin such as cleansers and moisturizers. And lastly, it also sells perfumes, brushes, palettes, and sponges.
If you prefer grabbing collections or sets, the store also offers a nice selection of lash sets, eye sets, face sets, lip sets, brush sets, and fragrance sets.
A very popular product line inside Younique is Moodstruck, which sells lash enhancers, liquid foundation, liquid lipsticks, mascaras, palettes, eye liners, and many more.
Be careful though in case you’re planning to try a product, since there’s usually divided opinion on the matter.
Some people claim that it works wonders. Some people think other brands have better products. While some experienced negative side effects after using them.
To reassure yourself before making a purchase, you should check consumer websites with Younique reviews such as Consumer Affairs so you could learn about various people’s insights.
Getting Inside Younique: How Does It Work?
Okay, so now you’re interested in becoming a part of Younique’s growing family.
But the question is: How does it work?
First of all, there’s a unique title for a Younique distributor, and it’s called a Younique Presenter.
And like most health or beauty MLMs, you have to purchase a welcome kit filled with products, guides, and brochures, called the Presenter Kit.
The Presenter Kit (seen on the right) is a purple leather bag which you can actually carry with you. And depending on what kit you purchase, the contents of your bag will vary.
Now, here’s the interesting part.
Coz’ not only will Younique give you a set of products. It will also grant you access to your own e-commerce site, world-class training, business management tools, and access inside Presenter-only Facebook groups.
That way, you’ll be able to market on the Internet without going face-to-face with your prospects!
For the pricing of the kits, there are 3 basic options to choose from.
It’s either you start with a Standard Kit ($99), Premium Kit ($199), or an Artist Kit ($199).
Obviously if you want more products, you should choose from either Premium or Artist kit.
But regardless of how much you spend, you’ll be automatically enrolled inside Younique’s lucrative compensation plan.
The Younique Royalties Program: How Does It Work?
By becoming a Younique Presenter, you’ll be placed in its wondrous compensation plan, called the Younique Royalties Program.
What I like about this plan (compared to other MLMs) is its overall simplicity.
Normally, I would be reading dozens of pages of compensation plan PDFs or 10- to 30-minute video presentations just to understand one MLM company.
But with Younique, I couldn’t find any resources except for just two simple charts.
The first one above talks about the requirements for achieving higher ranks.
Just so you know, the different ranks in Younique are the following:
- Entry Presenter – White and Yellow
- Exemplary Presenter – Pink and Blue
- Elite Presenter – Green and Orange
- Exclusive Presenter – Purple and Black
Obviously, the higher you are in the rankings, the more earnings you can potentially generate.
And it’s something that’s explained in the second chart of the Royalties Program.
Because you can earn royalties in multiple levels below you, it only makes sense that you train your downlines to sell beauty products so you could make the royalty rates work for you (which is passive income).
But first of all, YOU too should learn how to sell beauty products by practicing with retail sales. It can’t be avoided since according to the compensation plan, you need to maintain a certain amount of retail sales to keep your rank.
Good thing Younique provides a ‘system’ for Presenters to market their businesses online.
Verdict: Is Younique’s Biz Opportunity The Real Deal?
Younique allows anyone to start a business by selling its well-crafted beauty products.
Your entrance to the MLM will begin the moment you sign up under a sponsor and become a Presenter, which entitles you to a Presenter kit that contains products you could try for yourself.
And if you work hard enough by taking advantage of Younique’s tools & training, the compensation plan will reward you with multiple income streams that are ‘passive’ in nature.
That said, does it mean I’m recommending Younique to biz opp seekers?
My answer for that would be: YES
But ONLY if you’re fine dealing with a couple of issues.
Like for one, Younique’s compensation structure doesn’t favor the newcomers.
You’ve already seen the charts above, and you must know already that your journey in Younique starts from the very left side (the Entry Presenter).
And in order to succeed in this business, you gotta’ master selling.
This means convincing others to buy your beauty products, persuading women to join your team, and training them so that you all generate sales.
However number two, everyone inside Younique is your competition!
So even if it’s in your best interest to empower your people, you can’t avoid thinking that they might be a ‘threat’ to your own business.
You see, everyone sells the same products and everyone has access to the same tools and education. Plus, everyone is targeting the same demographic (women).
Are you fine with running a business like that?
And three, I’ve been hearing rumors about the products being ‘horrible’.
Like for example, there’s a woman who reported that the 3D mascara wasn’t working coz’ its fibers wouldn’t stick. Then, someone bought a liquid liner, only to arrive on her doorsteps already dry!
Furthermore, a lot of women got disappointed the moment they received their Presenter Kit. What’s worse is the company doesn’t allow you to return it and get a refund!
I guess my point is you gotta’ think carefully before choosing to commit inside Younique.
Overall: Younique is NOT a scam that will rip your money off. Derek and Melanie worked hard to create its beauty products, which is something scammy MLMs will never do.
Plus, the company takes advantage of technology to make your work as a Presenter easier. Had it been a downright pyramid scheme, Younique could have shut down by now.
However, since we’re talking about YOU and your next course of action, I highly advise that you pause for a while and think of the biz opportunity very carefully.
Coz’ I believe you shouldn’t waste money or time in a program that you’re not 100% sure of committing into.
But since you’re here, how about considering my FREE alternative?
Here’s a Cheaper (Or Even FREE) Method to Make Money
Joining an MLM can be a promising move to make.
Often times though, it requires you to shell hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars before getting started.
Right from the start, you’re already at a loss. And your job is to make your money back and produce a profit.
But what if you generate NOTHING?
What if after paying huge sums of money and working hard on a biz opp program that once excited you, your results will be trivial?
Look, I fell for this false mentality, losing THOUSANDS of dollars in the process!
I thought I need to spend as much money as possible to succeed in business.
Turns out, I don’t have to!
With the help of the Internet, I was able to generate 1,000’s of dollars without spending any money.
