What is Youngevity?
Youngevity (YGYI) was founded in 1997 by Dr. Joel Wallach, who has at least 50 years experience in the medical industry.
The company specializes in health and wellness products which aim to help people live younger and longer.
To be able to deliver its products, Youngevity encourages ordinary people to participate in the biz opportunity.
Which is of course, the reason why you’re here, right?
You wanna’ know whether it’s worth starting a business and earning a living with Youngevity.
To answer your question, understand that the company is designed as a ‘direct selling’ business with an MLM (multi-level marketing) revenue model.
What this means for you, is you have the potential to earn multiple streams of income just by joining the biz opp program.
You can sell the company’s products, you can recruit downlines, and you can train your downlines how to effectively sell and recruit their own respective downlines.
If you do it well, you’ll be rewarded with awesome incentives.
You can even get a car if you’re really that good!
Anyway, before this review turns into a sales pitch, let’s tackle a little bit about Youngevity’s product line.
To be honest, you won’t run out of selections.
You can choose from a wide variety of products classified in the following categories:
- Health & Nutrition
- Home & Family
- Food & Beverage
- Spa & Beauty
- Essential Oils
The advisable strategy, however, is to specialize in one particular product line if you wish to stand out.
Something which I strongly agree on!
When I first got started online, I had to choose a niche where I would specialize in.
I couldn’t be all things at once since it’s a recipe for burnout.
Besides, it’s hard to build trust with my customers if I sell every single product of the company.
Speaking of trust, why should you trust Dr. Joel Wallach?
Well, his profile in the website says that he has 50+ years of experience as a doctor.
He took up a doctorate degree in Veterinary and Naturopathic Medicine, then he made a groundbreaking discovery in 1977 when a monkey died of cystic fibrosis.
Because of the breakthrough, he postulated that we could influence our health and longevity through nutrition and environmental changes.
But in order to spread his message worldwide, he had to expand his reach, which spawned the birth of Youngevity in 1997.
He believes that humans need 90 essential nutrients to reach optimal health. This is why he created 90 For Life, a group of products containing Dr. Wallach’s 90 Essentials, and is the core of his product offering inside Youngevity.
The Biz Opp: How to Make Money With Youngevity
Your job inside Youngevity is to sell Dr. Wallach’s products.
But don’t worry, you won’t be doing the traditional ‘door to door’ strategy.
Coz’ in this day and age, marketing is more effective if you let people naturally come and buy from you.
Just to add my two cents, since Youngevity involves health products, a great strategy would be to ‘set an example’ on the product you’re selling.
Like if you’re selling weight loss supplements, you must become a ‘role model’ that you actually lost weight with the help of the product.
In short, you walk the talk!
Anyways, going back to the topic, you have two choices for getting inside Youngevity: Preferred Customer or Distributor.
Obviously, I’m going to talk about Distributor since it’s the one with the biz opportunity attached to it.
Hmm… So how do I begin?
Well, first thing you wanna’ know about the program, is there are two important metrics for determining your position and earnings inside the network: BV and QV.
BV stands for Bonus Volume, which determines your bonus and residual commissions.
QV stands for Qualifying Volume, which is mainly used for rank qualifications.
Now don’t worry about the details just yet.
Youngevity has a handy Compensation Plan Summary that will help guide you through the different ranks and incentives inside the biz opp.
You can just reference back to the PDF if you’re focusing on promotion.
However, the important thing to note here is you can get started with a high rank simply by purchasing products with a high QV.
But it comes with a price…
Literally, I’m pertaining to hefty admission prices!
Prices of becoming a distributor are from $199.95 (Starter Kit) to $499.95 (Mega Pak).
And that’s not all.
To continue your membership, you need to turn on the autoship feature, which automatically purchases Youngevity products for you every month depending on your preferences.
So, what do you think?
At least you’ll get something for your money.
Not unlike those MLM schemes which only sell you the ‘opportunity’, such as:
With Youngevity, you get to try real products which you can show to your family and friends!
Verdict: Should You Venture Into Youngevity?
Now for the important question…
Should you venture into Youngevity and start a business for yourself?
Will it scam you of your hard-earned money?
If you ask me, I’m confident they’re NOT a scam.
After all, joining the biz opportunity will give you actual products to use and try for yourself.
But still, I highly advise you do more research on this company, since I’ve only covered the business side of it.
I’ve never tackled the health claims of the products whether they’re real or not.
Don’t just go in and start a health business if you dunno’ how good the products are.
For extensive reading, I suggest checking out the Better Business Bureau website, which reveals the complaints of actual customers and distributors of the company.
Now, just because Youngevity has complaints doesn’t mean it’s bad.
If you notice every single complaint, all of them are either ‘Answered’ or ‘Resolved’, which suggests that the company DOES reply to people’s queries and concerns.
A true mark of a legit site!
Another positive I might add here, is the fine print I’ve read in their website, which I find very pleasing:
It says that Youngevity prohibits its distributors from making income claims.
Meaning you won’t hear a ‘$1,000 in 7 days’ claim from your recruiter.
I like this fact since it keeps things real and clean inside the biz opp program.
Most MLM companies I’ve come across were always promoted using bold claims.
Claims that deceive the typical newbie of what’s realistic or not!
Overall: If you have the money, then give Youngevity a shot. I see no major red flags to worry about in the company.
Besides, it’s already at least 20 years in existence. If it were a bad company, it wouldn’t last this long!
Go ahead, build a health & wellness business using Youngevity. I’m giving you full permission.
Find MLM Complicated? Here’s a “Dead Simple” Alternative
I’ve often wondered why MLM or direct selling companies tend to complicate stuff.
Why do they invent multiple rank names and create all sorts of terminologies such as BV and QV?
This is the very reason why I don’t like joining them.
I’d rather opt in for an online business opportunity that keeps things simple.
Luckily, the place I enrolled to back in August 2016 provided me with such system.
A simple blueprint on a much easier business model, affiliate marketing.
Now, why is affiliate marketing much better?
It’s because you can become an affiliate for FREE and start promoting the moment you get your affiliate link.
Websites such as Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and ClickBank will welcome you warmly to become their partner.
So, how do you get started?
I highly recommend taking up the free training provided inside the platform I’m talking about.
Which is an all-in-one platform containing the training, tools, community, and support for the complete beginner:
